Other Lighthouse Information:
The Isle La Motte lighthouse is on Lighthouse Point Road and there's a big closed gate going to the private property owned by the Clark family. They purchased it back in 1949. Some years ago the lighthouse was painted red-orange but the color faded to a pink salmon. It must have been the same paint that was used on the tower of Windmill Point. The Clark family also owns the Windmill Point lighthouse in Vermont. The Isle La Motte lighthouse is similar to three other US lighthouses; CA's Point Montara, and MA's Chatham and Nobska Point. There's a tall steel skeletal tower on the grounds also.
The Lighthouse Hunters Experience:
In 2003 a kind neighbor was home and they allowed us to take a few quick shots from their yard. The last time we saw this lighthouse we had to take our shots from the road behind it, North Point Road. Unfortunately there is a large field between the lighthouse and us.
