Other Lighthouse Information:
The Woodsum Brothers built the original three lighthouses on the lake in the 1890s. Lake Sunapee is ten miles long and three miles wide. The lighthouse was rebuilt in 1960 because it was struck by lightning. In the mid 1980's the lighthouse was given solar power lights. The lighthouse is near the entrance to Sunapee Harbor. One can see the lighthouse from
Lake Sunapee Cruises.
The Lighthouse Hunters Experience:
We rented a twenty foot pontoon boat for two hours from
Sargents Marina in Georges Mills, NH. We had a great time on the water photographing all three of the lighthouses (Burkehaven, Herrick Cove and Loon Island) on Lake Sunapee. We both enjoyed being at the helm tooling around the lake.
