Other Lighthouse Information:
The Yaquina Head lighthouse is Oregon's tallest lighthouse. It's on an outcropping three miles north of the Yaquina Bay entrance. This lighthouse was supposed to be built at Cape Foulweather, four miles to the north, but the materials were brought here by mistake. The lighthouse is part of the Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area at the end of Lighthouse Drive off US 101. This lighthouse is open for climbing and you can roam near the beautiful cliffs around the lighthouse.
The Lighthouse Hunters Experience:
The Yaquina Head lighthouse was the fourth lighthouse we saw on this day. We spent a little more time here. We enjoyed taking pictures from farther away so we could get the cliffs and water in the shots. We would love to get back here again to take hundreds more pictures of the lighthouse with different angles and during the different times of day.
