Other Lighthouse Information:
Two Harbors lighthouse is the oldest operating lighthouse in Minnesota. The other lighthouse on the breakwater is called the Two Harbors East Breakwater and it takes just a few minutes to walk from the Two Harbors lighthouse. On the grounds is the lighthouse, assistant keeper's house, fog building-gift shop, oil house and the pilothouse from the ore carrier, Frontenac. In order to tour the grounds and climb the lighthouse there is a small fee. The site also operates as a Bed & Breakfast.
The Lighthouse Hunters Experience:
Back in 2001 we were able to walk on the grounds for free. In 2009 we just took our pictures through the fence. Finally in 2012 we had the time to tour the grounds for only $3.00 per person. We climbed the lighthouse and took more pictures. This was our first day back in the States after our eight day Canadian Lake Superior adventure. Next we strolled on the breakwater to the Two Harbors East Breakwater light. The wind was around 20 mph and the water was very choppy.
Photographed it: September 24, 2001 / July 27, 2009 / July 19, 2012
