Lighthouse Adventures 1999
Summer 1999 we took seven days to revisit Maine and New Hampshire. We got on several ferries and boat trips, though some were canceled due to wind. We're getting the hang of finding the lighthouses. We met Ken Black at the The Shore Village Lighthouse Museum in Rockland, Maine. We were impressed with each other. We went back to the Lighthouse Depot in Wells, ME to purchase lighthouse books and maps to help us with our journeys. We enjoyed our two lobster dinners during our 1,799 mile trip.
For our fall 1999 lighthouse trip we were on six ferries to see several of the off-shore lighthouses. Maine's Monhegan Island lighthouse was a fun day trip. We loved our two delicious lobster dinners in Maine. In Massachusetts we walked four miles round trip on the beach to the Race Point lighthouse. Then day trips to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. We had funny mishaps with the camera, jeep and a taxi while on the islands. RI's Block Island was another exciting day trip. In 12 days we drove 2,100 miles.
